Lisa Pierce – Executive Director and Founder
Founding Alabama Rural Ministry, Lisa has always been really excited about the potential we have for ministry in our state. For the past 18 years, ARM has been working with some incredible families who make each day worthwhile. Lisa graduated from Auburn University and has a Master’s from The University of West Alabama where ARM began. Lisa loves working with people in rural communities and getting to know them and their amazing stories. Although originally from Daytona Beach, Florida, Lisa considers Alabama home. She’s been working with the National Guard since 1990 and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Most recently, Lisa was ordained as a deacon in the United Methodist Church. Overall, Lisa enjoys serving others in the Spirit of our Lord and Savior!
Joe Davis – Director of Ministry Operations
Joe oversees the operation of ARM’s day-to-day ministries and leads our summer staff and mission team recruiting efforts. He is a native of Sumter County where ARM began; in fact, he still remembers Lisa visiting his school in the mid-1990s to give Monday morning devotions! Joe was president of the Auburn Wesley Foundation while an Auburn student, and he served on the ARM summer staff in 2005 as a Construction Coordinator. He has a degree in Wireless Software Engineering from Auburn University, a Master’s of Divinity from Palmer Seminary, and is completing a second Master’s in International Development from Eastern University. Joe is married to Cassie Simpson Davis, and they have a 2 year-old daughter named Isla.
Jeremiah Bryan – Construction Supervisor
Jeremiah is from Lafayette, Alabama, and he graduated from Auburn University in 2015 with a degree in Environmental Design. After working as a Construction Coordinator with ARM during the summer of 2015, he began working as the full-time Construction Supervisor. Jeremiah loves being a part of the growth and transformation that takes place through this ministry and in the lives of the individuals he works with on a daily basis.
Betsy Boggs – Outreach Coordinator
A native of Clemson, South Carolina, Betsy serves as our Outreach Coordinator. She has served as a member of the ARM summer ministry team as both a Site Leader and a Day Camp Coordinator for the past three summers in Livingston. Betsy graduated from Clemson University in 2016 with a BA in English and a minor in Education. Ever since her first summer serving as a Day Camp Coordinator in Livingston, God has been fueling a passion within her to ensure that all children have equal educational opportunities no matter their zip code, skin color, socioeconomic status, etc. She is most excited about continuing relationships with the families, kids, churches and youth teams she has formed through ARM over the years as well as creating new ones as she transitions into this full-time partnership.
Joseph Farris – Project Management Coordinator
After two years of serving as a member of the ARM summer ministry team in Tuskegee, Joseph now joins us as our Project Management Coordinator. In the summer of 2014, Joseph served as a Construction Coordinator in Tuskegee and during the summer of 2016, Joseph served as the Site Leader in Tuskegee. As the Project Management Coordinator, he is working closely with Jeremiah, our Construction Supervisor, in managing and coordinating home repair projects for the families with whom we serve. Joseph, originally from Alpharetta, Georgia, is a senior studying Business Management at Auburn University. During his time at Auburn, he has become involved with Auburn’s Wesley Foundation and Auburn’s RUF ministry.
