Make a Difference Day or MDDay is a day for churches and organizations across Lee & Macon counties to extend Christ’s love through home repair and community service! This event is open to all churches, campus organizations, community groups, or individuals. When you serve on MDDay, you’ll be joining with others across the country making a difference in their own communities!
Your group can help us make sweet homes for Alabama by completing critical home repairs for families in Lee and Macon counties who live with a low/fixed income. We work with families to make their homes warm, safe, and dry. Repairs can include everything from building a wheelchair ramp to re-shingling a roof!
On MDDay, we’ll have projects suitable for a wide range of construction experience levels – from beginner to contractor! We can provide tools and assistance purchasing construction materials for a limited number of groups on a first come-first serve basis.
Groups are asked to help underwrite all or part of the cost of construction materials, but we’ll also be seeking corporate sponsors to support us. We don’t want costs to keep you from serving so please contact us even if your group doesn’t have a budget for materials!
Home repair crews can be as small as 4 people and as large as 10. Your group may have enough for multiple crews! Smaller groups and individuals can be added to other crews. Just let us know how many people you expect to have in your group!
