Are You Ready?

To be invited into compassionate service and radical hospitality

To serve with incredible people who are passionate about seeking God’s kingdom, and share this passion with eager middle & high school students

To experience the joys and trials of Christian community

To be challenged to trust God, grow in your faith, and discern your vocation as a disciple of Christ

Why Does it Matter?

Alabama faces a shortage of nearly 90,000 adequate homes. Rural communities, especially in the Black Belt, face an array of economic, social, and political challenges. Poverty is entrenched. Too many families live in homes that are not warm, safe, and dry. Too many children are denied access to an educationally enriching, Christ-centered environment during the summer.

The work is demanding. The hours are long. Time off is rare.

Why do we do it? We exist to end sub-standard housing in rural Alabama. We partner with families and children in these communities along with volunteer teams who together extend Christ’s love with one another in practical, hands-on ways and build real friendships across lines of race, class, culture, and generation. Join us this summer to be a part of God’s work to end sub-standard housing in rural Alabama!
