ARM helps families apply for a Rural Housing Grant through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This grant provides up to $7500 for families living in rural areas to do repair work in the case of major safety issues in the home. The qualification and application process is very rigorous, and for this we need volunteers to help us.

ARM staff begin the process with families that may qualify. After pre-qualifying, volunteers who have completed the Home Repair Grant Training may help our families complete the extensive application. This involves meeting with families to help them gather needed documents and guiding them through the application. The qualification process can take anywhere from 3-6 months, and families often need assistance to fill out the documentation correctly and efficiently.

We recently had a training session in September 2014 with volunteers from a local church. Future training dates will be scheduled based on need.
