Our summer ministry is now underway. We have already hosted teams in Tuskegee so many thanks to Pensacola UMC and St. Luke UMC out of Panama City. They did amazing work finishing floor work, a wheel chair ramp and so much more.  The theme this summer is called “Throw Me In”. We look at some comparisons between Jonah and Paul and their experiences in being thrown into the water but mainly into service and love. We are called to do the same despite the risks and challenges.

Livingston welcomes Foley UMC and Faith Fellowship from Cincinatti, Ohio. They will be building a wheel chair ramp and serving at our day camp. Sandy and I will be able to visit these two teams at the end of the week.

The Walk Across Alabama was a huge success. You can see all the information on the Walk Website. See the photo gallery for pics of the actual walk and the workday in Selma. The walk was to raise awareness about poverty housing and to raise more funds to repair homes. Although the June heat was intense, it didn’t stop us from treking anywhere from 10-20 miles per day. We were blessed by all we met.

If you are a work team arriving for this summer, check with our ARM staff about adding a blog about your team!
