Youth Mission Trips
If your youth group, college group, or church is looking for ways to serve God this summer, please consider working with Alabama Rural Ministry. Every summer we have a large number of youth teams serving, but we have also had many family oriented, multi-generational teams as well. We are open to accommodating any age group of people that is willing to serve God through home repair and day camp ministries with Alabama Rural Ministry.
A youth director recently asked, what makes ARM special or different? Great question! Here is a bit of our philosphy:
ARM has three objectives. (1) We are committed to meeting the needs of our rural poor through home repair. We feel all homes should be safe, free from leaks and protected from the environment. (2) We build relationships that cross cultural, racial and age barriers. You will work closely with the homeowners and their families. We encourage groups to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from them. (3) For those who choose to minister at the day camp, you help provide Christian education, academic education and a Christian witness to children. This is critical in communities where children are many times neglected and “left behind.”
Making the trip to one of our locations in Alabama is a big decision. While serving at ARM, we pray that your team will not only experience the joys of helping a family with repairs or teaching children Bible stories, but we also pray that your team will gain an understanding of Christ’s call to serve and experience the joy that comes through giving.
Here are our goals while you serve with us:
1) Provide you with a mission experience that allows your team to develop personal relationships, challenges and builds upon their relationship with Christ, and meets a physical, spiritual, and emotional need
2) Provide a cultural experience that allows you to engage the community and gives you a great dose of southern and Christian hospitality
3) To tap into the leadership and ideas of your youth who are our next wave of problem solvers for our world
The Summer Program runs from May 31-August 1, with both Weeklong and Extended Weekend trips available. Register now by printing off the registration form found below and sending to us.
