The forecast called for highs in the low 40s and lows in the mid 20s (practically arctic weather for Alabama!), but that couldn’t stop our friends from Auburn Wesley and ARM@AU from serving!

We’re so thankful for the group of about 30 volunteers who served last Saturday, Feb 13th at 4 sites across Lee and Macon counties. One team braved the weather to improve the safety of Ms. Green’s porch by installing spindles. After finishing in just an hour or so, they said goodbye to Ms. Green and headed to Mr. Scott where they installed a handrail and crawled underneath the home to make a temporary plumbing fix on a leaking pipe.

Another team served with Ms. Maddox where they helped seal and trim a window, replace a portion of water-damaged ceiling, prepare one room for painting, and began painting in another! We’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Ms. Maddox pretty well as we’ve served with her. While her home repair is almost complete, we’re excited about how we can continue to do ministry with Ms. Maddox in the future.

A large team of volunteers headed to Tuskegee where they continued the renovation efforts at the Tuskegee Mission Hub in several ways. One crew put two coats of fresh paint on the parlor walls, another installed trim around the new fellowship hall door, while a third crew worked on installing the hard-to-cut laminate flooring around the bunk room door thresholds. We can’t wait to host more teams at the Hub this summer – we have over 200 volunteers registered to serve in Tuskegee this summer!

Our next big steps at the Hub to prepare for summer teams includes renovating the kitchen, and building a set of 20 3-level bunk beds! Just contact Joe via email at joe@arm-al.org to find out more if you’d like to help.
