Last week we held our first official ARM @ AU meeting. We were so excited that almost 35 students turned out to hear how they can be more involved with ARM’s service throughout the school year!11217568_10153634942979525_6644338109948306009_n

ARM @ AU was started in the Spring of 2015 by past summer staff member, Jake Lovelace. Since Jake graduated in May, two new students have stepped up to lead this new organization. Sara Rains, senior in Nutrition & Horticulture, will be serving as president, and Trey Phillips, senior in Building Science, will be serving as vice president. Thanks Jake for laying the groundwork for this successful launch!

During the meeting, students were introduced to ARM and our history and found out about the ways they can be engaged with ARM this year. ARM @ AU will be hosting monthly home repair service days, serving as tutors with the I Am My Brother’s Keeper tutoring ministry in Auburn and Tuskegee, developing poverty education and awareness programs on campus, and even assisting with our summer staff recruitment!

We are so excited to branch out with our first student organization and can’t wait to see all the wonderful service that happens this next year and many years to come. Their first service day will be on Saturday September 19th. Contact Sara Rains at sar0016@tigermail.auburn.edu for more information on how to get involved!
