As winter approaches, utility costs skyrocket, and many families struggle to keep their homes warm. And as Christmas draws near, so does the pressure to buy gifts! What do you do? Giving Tuesday can be your one-stop solution to both.
On Tuesday, December 2nd, any donation you make to Alabama Rural Ministry (or any other United Methodist mission project) will be doubled, if you donate quickly! From 11:00pm Dec. 1st to 10:59pm Dec. 2nd Central Standard Time, the General Board of Global Ministries will match every gift made up to $1 million.
This means that if you donate $50 to help us repair a roof, the real value of your gift is $100. Save December 2nd on your calendar. On this day ONLY, you can double the impact you have for families in rural Alabama, helping them enjoy Christmas this year in warm, safe, and dry homes.
UMC #GivingTuesday is part of an international movement to extend the spirit of giving thanks into the Advent season, offering individuals an opportunity to begin the holidays by supporting organizations that are making a difference.
