We are so thankful for our friends Sarah Head and her granddaughter Zoia Jordan for serving with us on April 2nd! They were part of a team from Church of the Higlands Auburn who have been serving with us on the first Saturday of each month. Their team built components for 3 of our new triple-level bunk beds, and got 2 of the bunks assembled! In addition, Sarah serves on our board of directors. We asked Sarah and Zoia to share what their service means to them.

The opportunity to serve is such a humble and grateful feeling.  That was what I felt on Saturday, April 2, 2016 while assisting in the building of three-tier bunk beds, serving with ARM to get it done for youth volunteers that will make a special visit to Alabama to share their love by helping to serve some of our fellow citizens whose homes are not safe, warm, and dry.

Even though I suffer with a disability, God allowed me to prove to myself that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  That gave me great joy knowing that, in spite of your circumstances, you can love, serve and learn.

I thank God for allowing me this awesome opportunity and to ARM for allowing me to serve.

Zoia’s Reflections

On April 2nd, I had the opportunity to build bunk beds for missionaries at Tuskegee First United Methodist Church.

While building these awesome bunk beds I had a chance to meet and fellowship with new people. Doing this project made me feel great because I was doing something for someone else and I got to spend my Saturday morning/ afternoon doing something like this that was actually fun to do. I would love to do more positive projects like this in the future and I truly did enjoy myself while building these bunk beds. Thank you again for this opportunity.
