It’s been quite a week at ARM! With the help of hundreds of friends and supporters, we’ve raised nearly $80,000 in our most successful Sweet Homes for Alabama campaign ever. God is good – all the time!

With all the excitement of Lisa living in the shack with daily visits from pastors and community leaders (more blog posts here!), our lunch workshop series on poverty at Auburn, the Box City event for college students, and the Wheelbarrow of Change, you may have missed a very important – maybe the most important – event of the week.

westerveltOn Monday, October 24th, we hosted a team from The Westervelt Company, an environmental engineering firm with an office in Auburn. While we were talking about making sweet homes for Alabama and you were helping us raise money, our friends from Westervelt were out doing it!

This was the 2nd time we’ve hosted a team from Westervelt. Last year the team served at the Tuskegee Mission Hub on a rainy October day. This year it was the opposite – bright and sunny – and a great day for roofing! We were so excited to make great progress on a roof for a family in Valley, AL. We hope to finish the roof this Saturday with a team from First Baptist Opelika.

Thanks Westervelt for making Sweet Homes for Alabama with us! We look forward to continuing our partnership in service.
